4 Nianbaoyuze Mountains consist of several high standing peaks, with deep valleys and abundant glaciers.
5 Nianbaoyuze’s weather is extremely hard to predict. Each year the mountain attracts adventurers and mountain climbers round the world.
6 Nianbaoyuze is also called Guoluo Mountains, the altitude of the main peak is 5369 meters high. It is regarded as an origin area of Tibetan; it is respected as a sacred mountains among Tibetan people.
7 Animaqin Snow Mountains is also called Maji Snow Mountains, it lies the east end of Kunlun mountains, it is 28 km long and 10 km wide, the biggest mountain at the Yellow River source.
8 In the area of 280 square km, 18 snow mountains erects upright, all of which are over 5000 meters above sea level, and there are 50 glaciers. The area is the heaven of wild animals and plants.
9 Maqingangri Peak is the main peak of the mountains, it consists of three mountains over 6,100 meters above sea level. Since its opening in 1980, it attracts numerous mountain climbers, hikers and tourists from Japan, American, England, Germany, France, Italy and Australia.
10 Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum is a comprehensive museum for collecting, protecting and exhibiting the historical and cultural heritage, cultural relics and Tibetan paintings which are originated in Qinghai-Tibet plateau. It is the unique of the world.
11 The purpose of the museum is exhibiting magnificent culture of Tibetan medicine, history of Tibetan medicine development, and saving the endangered Tibetan medicine cultural heritages.
12 The Bird Island is named after tens of thousands of migration birds on the island. The island consists of east and west islands. In April each year, numerous birds such as bar-headed geese, cormorants, brown-headed gulls and so on, they arrive to lay hatch eggs. When the birds are flying, the sky is covered to darkness. Birds Island can be ranked among “kingdom of birds”.
13 Qinghai Lake Sacrificial Altar is 50 meters long in perimeter and 16 meters high, with 108 prayer wheels around it, and in each prayer wheel there is 300 million praying words.
14 The altar has 4 entrances where four Buddha statues are carved on the wall. The Buddhists respectively are Buddha, Four Arms Avalokitesvara, Buddhism Guardian and Green Tara.
15 Sculpture of horse carrying scriptures is the first scenic spot of Qinghai Lake. The stone sculpture describes a galloping horse carrying scriptures, indicating the light of Buddha shining everywhere, people living better-off life peacefully and happily.
16 As a 4 A state level tourist spot, Xinlu is the former residence of Ma Bufang, Chairman of Nationalist Party of Qinghai provincial government. Now it is known as Qinghai folklore museum, a good place to see the folk customs of ethnic nationalities of Qinghai.
17 The residence is the best preserved residential buildings in Qinghai province, and it’s the only residence in China with its wall decorated with Hanbai Jade.
18 Nanshan Hill of Xining is also called Phoenix Mountain. There is a pavilion on the mountain. History has it that a phoenix flew over the mountain, hence the mountain is called platform of phoenix. “Fengta liuyun”(cloud covered platform) is one of eight ancient tourist spots in Xining.
19 Beichan Taoist temple commonly known as Tulou Taoist temple, or Yongxin temple, initially built in Han and Wei dynasties.
20 On the east side of Beichan temple, there is a 30-meter high Buddha statue and it got the name of “outdoor Jinggang”, the local people called it “Flash Buddha”. It is carved from the mountain with Tang Dynasty style. Tourists overlook the whole city from the temple.
21 Xunhua County is an exclusive Sala autonomous county in China and it lies in southeastern Qinghai and 163 km away from Xining, capital city of Qinghai.
